Grass-fed, grass-finished beef is much leaner than typical store-bought beef and it takes less time to cook.

Here are a few tips to help you cook the perfect steak:
  • It is best served rare to medium rare.
  • It takes about 2 to 4 minutes per side to cook.
  • Reverse sear is a great cooking method.  Use a very hot skillet to sear your steak, then place it in a 325 degree heat oven to finish heating the meat.

Sous-vide (sealed and heated in a water bath) is a method used by many restaurants to cook perfect steaks.  It works by slowly raising food to an exact cooking temperature.  Once cooked, you can serve immediately or store unopened in the refrigerator for a few days before finishing and serving.  Steaks cooked using the sous-vide method are finished by searing on a grill or in a pan to brown the outside before serving.  Click this text for an easy sous-vide recipe from SeriousEats.com.
